Mayors Taskforce for Jobs
The Mayors Taskforce for Job (MTFJ) helps job seekers and employers in the Gore District by placing people in sustainable, fulltime paid work for 30+ hours a week.
The team can also help if you are looking for part-time work or are an employer wanting extra support.
The programme:
- Supports people aged 16-24 years seeking work.
- Supports people of any age who have been disadvantaged in their search for new employment.
- Supports people with health and/or disability challenges in their search for employment.
- Provides practical skills development including interviewing and job search techniques, resume writing and pathway planning.
- Connects potential employees with employers.
- Provides funding assistance
Who delivers the programme?
The Council is contracted by Local Government New Zealand to deliver MTFJ to the community.
The key partners are Gore District Council, Local Government New Zealand - Mayors Taskforce for Jobs and the Ministry of Social Development.
The vision is for all young people under 25 to be engaged in appropriate education, training, work, or positive activity in their communities.
