Ready for Living
Ready for Living - Te Ara Tiketike
We’re proud Gore has been recognised as an ‘Age friendly Cities and Communities’ by the World Health Organisation through our Ready for Living programme.
Ready for Living is about making Gore a great place for all people. With the growing number of older people in our community, we are building our knowledge and understanding of the needs of older people so we can put the best things in place for them.
Gore has a large range of social groups, clubs, sports and hobbies for older people to participate in from knitting to fishing, Lions clubs to exercise classes.
Living Well in Later Years
We've put together a handy booklet about local services and connections for older people. There’s everything from how to improve your strength and balance to opportunities to volunteer, perfect guide for those new to the community.
You can download a copy of the booklet here.
